    Default International Engine Identification help?

Hey guys, im new to this forum, i just recently purchased a 1974 IH 200 pickup.. its 4 wheel drive with a v8 and an automatic tranny... its a cute little pickup but needs a few things... im just curious if anyone could help me with identifying the engine and tranny? or where to locate vin numbers, date codes, anything helps, id greatly appriciate it, im more of a pontiac muscle enthusiast myself and i look forward to becoming an IH enthusiast with your help.

    Thx much

    Default motor ID

if you look on the passenger side of the motor at the front, there should be a flat spot where they stamped the code-you might have to scrape off years of gunk and paint to make it visible. That should answer that issue

If you remove the right front wheel, the flat pad can be easily seen after all the grease build-up is removed.
