I bought a '77 Scout with 4 speed and 345 engine. It's got a 2 bbl Motorcraft carb with electric choke, which I'm assuming is not stock. It started leaking gas, but a tap on the float bowl stopped it. It could probably use a rebuild. Is this a good carb for this engine? Is it worth rebuilding, or should I spend the $s on a different carb? Thanks and Happy Holidays!

I've only ever heard of Holley's on 345's, but sometimes with IH you can't ever be sure. I think it's pretty safe to say that the Motorcraft is NOT stock though. As long as it works though, no point in messing with it. Lots cheaper to rebuild than to replace.

just take the carb off and show it to the parts guy and a kit should follow
