so i was told that the marker lights are designed to go off when the light switch is pulled on all the way (thanks allen e) so my next question is why are the rear markers not coming on at all. So this is what i did, unwrapped all the wires in the rear area to find out that they are all in green, yes green. so what i am looking for is a wiring diagram...

it looks like its the 800 B diagram that will work, odd? was that common among scouts?

The Green wires were factory done, thats why when I got mine...out went the old harness and in went an aftermarket...makes life so much easier.

So I have a 75 scout I have been fighting with all week and I finally figured out the wiring for the marker lights. My problem was that the number 68 black wire running from the fuse panal to the head light switch, was not getting power from the fuse. I had the same problems as you when I turned the lights on the markers went off. I dont think that it was wired to turn of the markers when the lights are on. Its just two diffrent circuits and two diffrent power sources for the markers and the head lights. Check you power at #68 coming from the fuse panel going into on of the rear termainals on the head light switch. If you need more info or diagrams let me know:)
