I have a 77 scout with V8, it has a Delco point distributor in it. Is there a drop in Delco HEI Distributor that will work with this motor. I have a jeep with 258 and am able to use Delco chevy 6 cyl. distributor, just had to change drive gear. It has coil built into cap. anything like this for the scout V8? Thanks for info

Jeff at IHONorth has a drop in DUI dizzy.
Also, give Summitracing a call, they've helped me on a few things.

Took a look at the DUI, a bit pricey. Was hopeing I could go to a junkyard and pull something out of a GM like the jeep HEI.

I'm afraid you won't be that lucky, the IH SV motors are a breed unto themselves. You can always go with a Pertronix kit to replace the points.

I have been looking around for the pertronix kit for the delco 8 cyl. motor but so far have only seen them for the prestolite v8 or the delco 4 cyl. motor.

Talk to Jeff at IHOnorth, he should be able to get it for you at a reasonable price.
