67 Travelall emergency brake cable

I parked my Travelall "flat" ground, running, while I ran into the house to grab something I forgot. As I was getting ready to walk out the door I heard a crash. The T'all rolled down a hill and parked itself in the side of my house. I can't believe how lucky I was. It tore one piece of siding off my house ( didn't even tear the tar paper ), took out some small plumb trees that the wife has been wanting me to cut down and dented a fender that I was going to replace anyway.

Anyway, I am looking for the front emergency brake cable for the truck and am reluctant to spend the the 126$ that scoutparts wants for them. Any ideas on where I can get one?

Put an add up in the classifieds of this site.. And id also suggest maybe call super scout specialists they are pretty good about having hard to come by used parts.

Thanks for the response. I talked with SSS this morning and the guy I talked to said they don't have any and would definately recommend not using a used one. But that really limits my options ;) So I imagine I will end up getting a used one.

There are companies that make these cables up for you if you look hard enough. The only difficult part is getting the proper ends attached. Take the old one in when you find a place so they can get the length right.

These cables usually fail due to neglect. Nobody ever lubes them.
