1978 Scout II Pickup

4cyl 196, rebuilt carb but still bogs when given gas, idles just fine but if you give it some gas it dies, can go down the road for a bit but then dies when giving it gas... If you slowly give it more gas it's fine, revs up nicely...its a 1 bbl carb, any suggestions? Been bringing this baby back from the dead, been sitting for four years and would sure like to take her for a real spin ;-)

Check to see if the accelerator pump on the carb is working.

After you check the accellerator pump, try removing and plugging the vacuum advance line and then driving it again. You have the classic symptoms of a hole in the vacuum advance.
