Searching for the VIN

I own a 1961 Scout 80 Pickup with the VIN tag removed from the firewall. Is there another location to find the VIN? Please be specific... thanks.

Have pictures and detailed information on where to look and how hard to scrape. It is the same for the trucks, so you shouldn't have any issues.

Hopefully, this Scout II info applies to my old '62... I've looked in this area before, but will try again... with better lighting... thanks.

With the amount of natural rust growth and as finely stamped as they are, it can be easy to miss or clean off. I don't know why it wasn't stamped in there better, but all the information that I've found applies to the entire International Light Line vehicle base. Someone just put a good writeup for the Scout II as it's what they had at the time.

Hope it helps you find it. I never bothered to verify my plates, but since I'm still working on the '69; I'm not too worried about it.
