I have a '78 scout II. It has bucket seats, which need to be replaced. Any advice on where to go or who to contact to remedy this?

Why do you want to replace instead of repair?

Find an upholstery shop, I had mine re-done for a few hundred. It'll cost about that much to get new ones anyway, why not restore the ones you have?

If your not particular about staying original measure the seat and it's base. Go to a junk yard and find a set from another make. IIRC some explorers, caravans and possibly astro seats will bolt in. It's probably the cheapest option.

If you want a direct drop in replacement to your stock seat stands then look for a 2000-05 (maybe later also) PT Cruiser. No special welding or braket fabing required.

I pulled some from a 99 Mustang GT and they bolted right to the stock bases.
