I just bought a full factory service manual for mine off eBay. I've heard you can upgrade the turbo with a mercedes turbo of some sort and bigger injectors backed with an electric fuel pump to help push more fuel through the engine.

The IH engine uses the same injector pump as the SD33T. It's a Bosch pump.
Can't help you with the turbo upgrade. Most of the diesel gurus I know don't wish to make a change to the original design because the output of this forklift engine is marginal. If you really want to upgrade, a 4BT cummins is a really good choice.

Looked into it a little more, and Super Scout Specialists sell a brand new service manual for 55.00.

it is called bosch A pump... that pump will flow alot of fuel for that motor. you just have to know what screws to turn.... and for turbos do not go with a mercades. all the differnce is the exhaust housing. you are not gaining any airflow... A good charger for that motor would be a hx35 holset with a very small exhaust housing or a s200. oh by the way these motors will handle 45 plus pounds of boots...........

That's awesome! I didn't know these were that serious!
(That HX35 is on Dodge Cummins.... Should be affordable and available from ebay....)

that is true. but you have to be careful, because of the exhaust housing size. i think the smallest they make is 9cm

hello i have put a turbo on my sd33 and i have no problem building boost the turbo is all good just adjust the wastegate if you have one . when you give a diesel more fuel its building boost and if you give it a lot off fuel you have a lot off boost just install a pyrometer. and watch temperature .
jeepåkare is back :)

no, i have personally never seen one. has anybody ever seen an insight with ANY performance parts? im not talking about a muffler or k&n; im talking about a full exhaust, nitrous/turbo, and/or some sort of upgrade to the hybrid system.
