is possible to clean a gummed up IP? ive cleaned all filters and inj. and lines are good. also should a brass washer accompany all banjo bolts ? - ive got no washer on the "out" line to pump and it seems to " hiss" air( when i use plunger) no matter how tight it is. --- sd33 btw. and i dont think it had a washer when i took it off but its very possible i could have never noticed it falling off- just thought it should have one b/c all the others do.

On any banjo bolt there should be a copper washer on both sides, so yes your missing one. If its hissing you have a leak, not good.

I have no idea whether an injection pump can be cleaned but going by the posts I see that it can. You seem to have done a good job though it is a pity about the washer getting lost. There should be places like Diesel Injection Services to help out with such problems. It is always better to get in professional help especially as a post mentioned, if the ‘hissing’ sound is caused by a leak.
