I hate to do it.... but I just don't have the time!
1980 Turbodiesel Scout Traveler - This is the last scout made! Has the Nissan SD33 T engine - runs and drives, with just over 100k on the odo - Barely broken in for a diesel.
I bought this scout 3 years or so ago in hopes of resto to use as a tow vehicle for my gasser 78 Scout II - But since then, I have moved from Detroit to California, and simply don't have the time to work on it.
The scout is currently in Detroit - and I will be there from thursday 3/12 - Monday 3/16.... So any interested parties, now is the time!.
Here is the skinny on this beast:
Runs and drives - but I wouldn't think of driving it any long distance... It needs work, as it has been sitting for 3 years, and not sure how long before that.
- Comes with a clear title - I never transferred from the guy I bought it from (Wisconsin Title).
- Not registered currently.
- Fuel gauge does not work.
- Manual trans (3 speed) makes a bit of noise when you press in clutch (throwout bearing?) but shifts fine.
- Has the "Midas" interior - but is in rough shape inside (think rust colored shag carpet and plaid seats...
- Floor, rockers, and door bottoms are rusted - but rest of body is solid!
COMES WITH NEW FLOORS, INNER AND OUTER ROCKERS, AND DOOR BOTTOM PATCHES. - All of this is new sheet metal purchased from Super Scout Specialists for this project. - You have some cutting and welding to do - but everything you need comes with the truck. These parts all cost me nearly $1,000.....
$3000 or best offer takes it home....
As I mentioned - I'll be in Detroit Thursday March 12 - Sunday March 15..... After that, I might not be back for more than a month.
