neutral safety switch

I just got my 1980 Scout II delivered by the previous owner this evening so I haven't been able to look it over really close yet. The seller told me that the neutral safety switch does not work. Where is this switch located on this Scout? Also are the backup lights associated with the same switch? :confused:

Right on top of the transmission (auto or manual). Pull the inspection panel and you'll see it. And yes, the backup lights hook into the same plug.

Thanks, I need to get a shop manual. I had a 1962 Scout 80 several years ago and I am looking forward to getting into the woods again. The 1980 has a 392 with an automatic so there is a new learning curve.
