I have a couple of decent 800B tops that need minimal work. You don't post a location. I can use a half cab.

I have a 800 full top in Houston, it's in decent shape but would be hard to ship. I would trade for a half cab or anything Scout 80/800 related.

Stu, I know the 80/800 tops mount differently to the windshield frame. Are 800 A's and B's different?
The top I have is from an 800, my 63-80 has five holes in the windshield frame, the top has more but nothing a good drill wouldn't fix.

Pe my MT-123 (for 800A,B), Fig. 16-006, #270 189 C91 is the only number shown for the "ROOF, ASSY -FOR FIELD INSTALLATION".
A second number is shown for the assembly, "-WELDED- -WITH WINDOW CUTOUTS, W/O GLASS"
I therefore assume that both the fixed and fold-down windshields, right and left-hand drives, were the same at the top where the Traveltop or short cab attached to them.
Anyone have numbers for the plain 800 (pre-A or B) Traveltop?
I was under the impression that the rear of the driver's/passenger's windows and thus the mating top contour, was different between the 80 and 800. Is that true?
:p
BTW, Interesting how many parts of the top could be gotten separately; same was true of the body:
BODY ASSY -WELDED- LESS DOORS,
HINGES, TAILGATE, WINDSHIELD, SEALS,
SEATS, RADIATOR MTG BRACKET,
CROSSMEMBER TO GRILLE BRACE, RADIATOR
OPENING CROSS ROD-
FIXED WINDSHIELD -W/WINDSHIELD FRAME-

I don't suppose any are still lost in a warehouse somewhere!

Well, the "Official Truth" is that there are only two patterns of mounting, the early Scout 80 1961 to early 1963 which mounts to the outside of the windshield frame with bolts to a flange welded to the top of same frame. The other pattern mounts through the top of the windshield so all tops half and full should mount to the windshiled the same 1963-1971. However, there are some different mounting patterns for the halfcab-to-bulkhead interface. I have experienced this myself. I have absolutely no experience with the fold down windshield 800s, never had my hands on one. The PN might be the same but functionally there could be subtle differences. The only thing the original poster is going to have to work through is that a legit factory halfcab Scout will not have holes drilled through the top of the rail and will have to do it himself.

Can you email me pictures of the full top?? I have one not but it needs a lot of work and I dont know if it could ever look right. I could probably eventually work out arrangements on one in Houston, I plan to head that way this summer. I have a good motor, tranny and trans case for 800, what are they worth? I am also in need of good window regulators-all parts associated with making windows go up and down, mine are shot beyond repair.

I have a really good full top in Southern Wisconsin that I will sell for $400.00. It is in great shape with NO rust. Give me a call if interested I will do a clean swap for your half cab with the bulk head.
